Sweet Relief: Giving Voice to the Invisible Victims

CIVIC, the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict, founded by the late Marla Ruzicka, is now offering copies of her biography, Sweet Relief, for sale through their website. This worthy cause, aimed at providing compassionate aid for all those ravaged by conflict, is richly deserving of support.

Click here for a closer look at the book, and help CIVIC speak for "the invisible victims of war," the "collateral damage" of the power games played by the state terrorists and maniacal freebooters who feast so profitably together on the blood fruits of war.

And while you're at it, why not give these good people a look? Médecins Sans Frontières "provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries...In carrying out humanitarian assistance, MSF seeks also to raise awareness of crisis situations; MSF acts as a witness and will speak out, either in private or in public about the plight of populations in danger for whom MSF works. In doing so, MSF sets out to alleviate human suffering, to protect life and health and to restore and ensure respect for the human beings and their fundamental human rights."

Here are people doing the real work of healing in the world, here is compassion, the only genuine kind: active, hands-on, in the field. Let popes and imams, preachers and politicians mouth hateful rhetoric of intolerance, exclusion, divine wrath and war: the true morality and spirituality of our time, of our human kind, is going on far below the violent thundering of "the great and the good."
