Scott I feel the same thing, that "smothering blanket of mass lunacy...", a palpable smog of despair, fear, superstition, gullability, panicky gullibility, rage, bloodlust, confusion, it's awful. Oh and the christiban, of course, drooling for the rapture, which I would be glad to see at this point, if only to shut them up for awhile... - Grandma Jefferson

Every day, in most every social instance - work, basic commerce, a friendly beer - I feel the dead weight of the smothering blanket of mass lunacy, so heavy with blood and tears, it cannot be lifted. You cannot lift it. And if it seems you've drawn the unlucky lot - yours: to be too interested in tearing a little hole in the fog of madness (just to see out; you cannot possibly get out), don't presume to point through it toward the light. No one wants to know.

Openly crowing about this on MSNBC now. So it won't be long.

I'll be dancing 'round the craters till the end, when the inmates finally give me the shiv.

And meanhwhile, back in Lotus Land, nobody wants to be caught napping...from Ed Naha,

"In the past two weeks, for instance, news stories have been written about a new Disneyland-esque theme park slated for Baghdad, the Pentagon backing a $5 billion swanky "Zone of Influence" in the Green Zone replete with luxury hotels and spas and the fact that all the foul names the U.S. has been lobbing at Islamic radicals are actually the highest compliments one can garner in the Muslim world."

http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/14574

As the rape of two cities grinds on, we plan to atone with...an expensive theme park embellishing the Baghdad Versailles and Zoo...

It occurs to me that our current "reality" has every subtle and unsubtle nuance of Hell, it's a waking, drugged surrealistic nightmare where the most outrageous insanity surrounds one, a Bosch tryptich sprung to horrific life.

Chris reminds me that I'm not hallucinating, or part of the "Matrix", that it's all too real, and I 'm grateful for the island of clarity & sanity.
